Joel Edgerton in talks to star in 300 sequel
It was announced in July that Noam Murro, who previously made Smart People in 2008, would direct the sequel to Zack Synder’s historical fantasy blood-fest 300.
Now casting rumors have begun, with Australian actor Joel Edgerton one of the first names to be mentioned.
He is already having a strong year, with Melbourne crime thriller Animal Kingdom and mixed martial arts movie Warrior, where he starred alongside Tom Hardy, both coming in for critical praise.
The producer also dropped a hint about Gerard Butler’s return…

Third trailer for Tarsem Singh’s Immortals
“To those who much is given, much is asked,” says Freida Pinto in a previous trailer for Tarsem Singh’s Immortals and she’s right - three trailers in and we’re still asked to wait for an out-and-out red band bloodfest.
If the carnage isn’t as high as modern fantasy fans expect, there’s still plenty to enjoy as a new voiceover offers up the full plotline (as much as it is), while some extra action has been added.
The real reason TF is excited: right now this is the closest thing to a God Of War movie. Check out the trailer and let us know what you think…
Immortals trailer released
The first trailer for Tarsem Singh’s Immortals has finally gone online after its debut at WonderCon a few weeks ago. A sprawling, sandy epic in the vein of Clash Of The Titans, it follows the bloodthirsty King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) who brings ancient Greece to its knees in his search for a mythic weapon. Standing in his way is stonemason Theseus (Henry Cavill), whose mother is killed by one of Hyperion’s guards, and who finds the mythic weapon – a bow – himself, and uses it in a mission to destroy Hyperion.
Oh, and if you think that magic bow looks familiar, remember Hank the Ranger from ’80s toon Dungeons & Dragons?

Sucker Punch: Everything We Know
“It’s Alice In Wonderland with machine guns…”
The above quote has long been the film’s unofficial tagline, but what can we actually expect in terms of the plot? Well, in brief, the film will follow a young girl known as Baby Doll, who is committed to an insane asylum by her abusive stepfather.
Reasoning that if he puts her away, she won’t be able to reveal his abuse, the stepfather arranges for Baby Doll to be lobotomised, a procedure that is set to happen five days after she arrives in the facility.
Naturally, Baby Doll will do anything in her power to avoid that happening, delving into the world of fantasy to aid her (and her fellow inmates’) escape…
“One of the procedural parts of the movie is that when one of the girls fantasizes, their adventure parallels a little adventure they’re doing in reality,” says Snyder.
“For instance, they need to steal a lighter from a dude that has a dragon etched on it. That’s what they’re really doing, (but in) Baby Doll’s version of it, they go to another world and fight a dragon. And that’s what you see.”
Sucker Punch gets new trailer
Sucker Punch is only a month away from release, and this morning the internet was gifted a new trailer for Zack Snyder’s latest. The action fantasy is Snyder’s love poem to teenage girls with machine guns, slo-mo, Alice In Wonderland and Warhammer (no, really), and this latest trailer is exactly what we’ve come to expect from the director.
Set to the tones of “Panic Switch” by rock band Silversun Pickups, the trailer is reminiscant of the the first Watchmen promo, though the Pickups’ effort is no Smashing Pumpkins. For detractors, it’s more visually polished but substance-lacking CGI-porn, for supporters, this is another example of Snyder’s breathtakingly stylistic brand of storytelling.
Guy Ritchie offered 300 sequel directing job
Guy Ritchie has been approached by Warner Bros with an offer to helm Xerxes, the battle-heavy sequel to Zack Snyder’s 300. Considering the WB already have Snyder on their payroll, it’s a surprise they didn’t go to him first. But word has it that the director is too busy attempting to fix third act problems on his fast-tracked Superman to have his attention split. Hence Ritchie’s been given a call. Though he’s yet to officially sign on to the film, the offer’s apparently on the table.
Sucker Punch gets a second trailer
Zack Snyder’s twisted new action movie Sucker Punch has unveiled a second trailer online. If you saw the first one, released earlier this year, you’ll already know the flick looks visually arresting and completely bonkers. Whereas the first trailer concentrated on wacky images and girls getting rough, this new look at the film reveals more of the plot – as well as giving us more of that gloriously-lensed bedlam.
Zack Snyder to direct Superman
Superman finally has a boss, with Watchmen director Zack Snyder confirmed as the lucky director selected to take on the Chris Nolan-produced Man Of Steel reboot.
To celebrate our 300th post we took a group photo!
Thanks for all the support guys :) Not sure how we survived before Tumblr!
If you get a sec, why not recommend us for Tumblr Tuesday!
