Henry Cavill talks Man Of Steel

Whilst the new suit has inevitably sparked debate (No pants? Sacrilege!), Man Of Steel’s new Superman Henry Cavill appears to have been met with fairly widespread approval.

Cavill himself has been talking about the part whilst promoting new film Immortals, and it sounds as though the appointment is still sinking in.

“I was trying very, very hard to play it cool on the phone with Zack Snyder when he called me,” said Cavill to Collider. “I thought, ‘Okay, play it cool. Not too cool, obviously. But, play it cool.’”

Michael Shannon talks about his General Zod costume

Following hot on the heels of some leaked snaps of Henry Cavill on the set of Man Of Steel come a few tidbits from Michael Shannon, who’s been talking to Entertainment Weekly about General Zod and what he’ll be wearing.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the billowing capes and parachute pants of yesteryear have become a thing of the past, with Shannon explaining that today’s costumes are slightly less forgiving. “Everything’s skin-tight,” laughs the star. “The flowy costumes don’t really… that’s not the style nowadays!”

Christina Hendricks says she’d like to play Wonder Woman

Director Nicolas Winding Refn has been tentatively attached to a Wonder Woman movie for some time now, and he previously stated that he’d like to have his Drive actress Christina Hendricks in the lead role.

Thankfully, it appears she’d be up for the role too, as she revealed when talking to Vulture recently.

When she was asked if she would be up for starring in Wonder Woman for Winding Refn, she said, “I think he is such an extraordinary and exceptional director, that if he asked me to do it, I would do it in a heartbeat.”

Set photos reveal Man Of Steel villainess Faora, and Superman’s lack of red pants

More on-set photos from Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel shoot have made their way online and they give the first glimpse of Faora.
 
Antje Traue’s Kryptonian character appears in a tough-looking costume topped of with a grey cape.

There’s also no red underwear/outerwear in sight for Supes. Check out the shots here…

Green Lantern 2 could still be a possibility

Green Lantern may have suffered from less-than-positive reviews, but Warner Bros are still confident that they can turn the film into a franchise.

The studio hired Michael Goldenberg to write a sequel script way back in August 2010, and it seems they’re keen to continue on with their plans for a Lantern 2.

That comes as a surprise considering Lantern failed to set the box office alight. It opened with a fairly miserable $53m, and has so far only made $89m domestically (something the studio admits is “slightly disappointing”).

Christina Hendricks wanted for Wonder Woman movie

Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, Bronson) has revealed he’d cast Mad Men star Christina Hendricks as Wonder Woman if he ever got to make a movie about the superheroine.

Refn recently worked with Hendricks on Drive. The film stars Ryan Gosling as a stuntman, and has been earning rave reviews across the festival circuit.

The director’s long been attempting to get his version of Wonder Woman onto the big screen. “If I get to do it, she’s going to be it,” Refn told Vulture of his dream casting.
