Star Trek 2 writers working on tie-in comic books

J.J. Abrams stopped dragging his space boots recently and signed on to direct the sequel to Star Trek.
 
So where is it already?
 
Well, co-writer Roberto Orci says pre-production is now underway, and he has also been busy working on some new Star Trek comics with writer Mike Johnson that will tie in with the movie sequel.

Star Trek 2 next for JJ Abrams

JJ Abrams has confirmed that his next project will be Star Trek 2, following directorial duties on Super 8. 

In an interview with Cinema Blend, Abrams confirmed, “The next thing we’re working on, and hopefully we’ll be able to pass information out sooner or later, is the next Star Trek.” 

Paramount has set a release date of June 29 2012 for the sequel, but when asked if he would be able to hit that, he said, “I care much more that it be good than it be ready.”
