Movie Cowboys vs. Movie Aliens
3. Ennis Del Mar vs. E.T.The Movie Cowboy: One half of Brokeback Mountain’s forbidden coupling, Heath Ledger’s rugged sheep-herder is a man’s man who just so happens to prefer the company of men in all elements of his life. An emotional pressure-cooker, he could explode at the least provocation. The Movie Alien: Cuddly E.T. is one of the friendliest aliens you could ever hope to meet. Whilst most of his intergalactic brethren are lording it with their ray-guns, he’s never happier than when reviving a dying flower. Awww.If They Fought: E.T. might be a loveable soul, but he’s no fighter. Ennis, on the other hand, has thrown more than a few punches in his time…The Winner: The bout is called a no-contest as the two gently weep on each other’s shoulders. The crowd angrily demands their money back as the two shake hands and leave arm in arm. Sample Dialogue: [Del Mar] “I wish I knew how to quit you.” [E.T.] “I’m off home in a bit. I’m sure you’ll manage.”

Cowboys & Aliens gets a third trailer

With the release of Cowboys & Aliens fast approaching, a third and possibly final trailer has been released, and, handily, you can watch it below.

The film, directed by Iron Man helmer Jon Favreau and starring Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde, Harrison Ford and Sam Rockwell, opens later this summer.

Cowboys & Aliens is set in a seemingly generic old western town, so it’s something of surprise when some nasty aliens unleash terror on said town, and it’s up to Craig and Ford (AKA Bond and Indy) to lead the fight against them.

Action-heavy Cowboys & Aliens trailer lands

A new trailer for Jon Favreau’s summer hopeful Cowboys & Aliens has arrived online. It’s mouth-watering stuff, featuring snippets of new footage, but thankfully it’s not as spoiler-heavy as some promos.

We get to hear Daniel Craig’s Old West drawl in a little more detail, and there’s more of Olivia Wilde’s Ella (which is never going to be a cause for complaint). We even get a tiny glimpse of Sam Rockwell’s Doc. Apart from a mysterious looking hand, the extra-terrestrials are kept tantalisingly off-screen. And the trailer makes good use of an Audioslave soundtrack to turbo-charge the action.

Cowboys & Aliens teaser

The first teaser trailer for Daniel Craig and Jon Favreau’s comic adap of Cowboys & Aliens has beamed online. A mixture of footage already glimpsed earlier this year at Comic-Con, and snippets of new bits, it effectively sets up the film’s enticing central premise. In a nutshell: Craig is a wanted man in 1873 Arizona whose incarceration is interrupted when aliens attack
