A first trailer has arrived for Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, and from the look of the weird and wonderful footage on display, it seems as though New Line might have a bona fide family smash on their hands.

First image of Dwayne Johnson as Roadblock in G.I. Joe 2
The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers and Superman: Man Of Steel all have armies of fans posting pics and YouTube videos from the shoots. With G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation it’s an inside job, as Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson tweets an image of himself from his first day’s shooting.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is set to star in upcoming action thriller Snitch, the latest film to be snapped up for distribution on the Croisette.
The film follows a suburban pop (Johnson) whose son is hit with a 10-year jail stint for drug offences. In order to reduce his son’s sentence, the father goes undercover to expose a senior drug dealer.
Written by Revolutionary Road scribe Justin Haythe and inspired by a 1999 US TV documentary, the film has been one of the buzz titles of the festival’s market.
Fast Five review
Muscle cars driven by pec-flexing guys watched by girls in hotpants… you’d think the Fast And The Furious franchise would’ve run out of gas by now. Think again.
This latest instalment, beginning immediately where the previous episode left off, is like The Avengers for F&F fans. With disparate characters from past episodes recalled to duty, it’s like Dominic Torreto (Vin Diesel) says to now-pregnant sis Mia (Jordana Brewster): “The family just got bigger.”
Still, getting bigger is what this car-crunching franchise is all about – and on that score FF5 doesn’t disappoint. Forget FF4’s opening gas-tanker heist. Here, we’ve barely taken our seats before Mia and ex-cop boyfriend Brian (Paul Walker) have busted Dom out of the prison bus we last left him on.
Say what you like about director Justin Lin’s lack of subtlety (or understanding of the laws of physics), but he knows how to kick-start an action movie.
Fast Five trailer revs up
The first trailer for Fast Five, the fifth entry in the Fast & Furious film franchise, has landed online. And yes, it’s basically porn for car-lovers, with all manner of rubber-burning antics crashing around on-screen. The plot follows Dwayne Johnson’s federal agent, who’s on the tail of former cop Paul Walker and ex-con Vin Diesel. They’ve paired up and are after that elusive “final job” to set them up for life.
