The Artist dominates 2012 Oscars
The Artist enjoyed a triumphant night at the 2012 Academy Awards, scooping five statuettes including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor, as well as Best Costume Design and Best Score.
The film tied with Martin Scorsese’s Hugo, which also won five awards, albeit in the less glamorous technical categories…
Best & Worst: George Clooney
BEST: THE FANTASTIC MR FOX (2009)
He may be your typical swaggering American, but even Clooney goes weak at the knees when it comes to the storytelling of Roald Dahl. Here he gets to play one of the coolest Dahl characters ever – the titular Mr Fox, who rallies against mean farmers who want to rid their land of wildlife.
It’s to Clooney’s credit that his silky tones are never lost in the animated hilarity. Our favourite smooth operator turns Mr Fox into one seriously cool dude. You guessed it, it’s fantastic.
Joel Schumacher wanted to make The Dark Knight with Nic Cage as The Scarecrow
Batman & Robin director Joel Schumacher has claimed he wanted to make a Dark Knight style follow-up to the Batman film even Batman says is terrible.
But Warner Brothers liked the Batman & Robin dailies so much (HOW?) they tasked Schumacher with making a fifth film, presumably starring Clooney, entitled Batman Triumphant.
“I was supposed to do a fifth one” Schumacher said. “I was talking to Nic Cage about playing the Scarecrow. I had begged the studio for The Dark Knight but they wanted a family friendly, toyetic thing.”

The Ides Of March’s Evan Rachel Wood talks sex scandals
The Ides Of March actress Evan Rachel Wood believes that skeletons in politicians closets shouldn’t be rattled by the media and that sex scandals are “natural”.
She also revealed that the cast of the political thriller had a blast shooting the film and that was all thanks to director George Clooney.

DRAGONSLAYER
What Is It? Not the classic, beast-felling fantasy from 1981 starring Peter MacNicol – in fact, far from it.
This new Dragonslayer is a skater documentary that took home the Best Documentary award at the SXSW Festival earlier this year.
Star of the show is Josh ‘Skreech’ Sandoval, a homeless California skateboarder who bums off his friends and spends his time getting drunk and/or high. Clearly influenced by Gus Van Sant, director Tristan Patterson delivers a cool indie doc that doesn’t flinch away from its subject.

30 Worst Movie Sequels
25. Ocean’s Twelve (2004)
The Sequel: Following a successful casino heist in Part I, Danny Ocean and his band of slick-suited crims are on the look out for a couple of extremely valuable artefacts.
Why It’s Terrible: It collapses under the weight of its own smugness, as anyone who has witnessed the Bruce Willis cameo will testify. The sloppiness of the various jobs this time around make you forget how effortlessly the gang took down the house in Eleven.
What They Should Have Done: Soderbergh, Clooney and co should have turned their attention to remaking and improving another Rat Pack movie: how about Robin And The 7 Hoods?
Darren Aronofsky could direct Human Nature next
Darren Aronofsky may not be making The Wolverine, but he could have found his next project in sci-fi Human Nature.
A spec script by Jeff Welch that’s been hovering around Hollywood for 15 years, Nature follows a man who wakes up after being cryogenically frozen and discovers that humans are now the pets of another species.
Which is one heck of a concept that could be played out for laughs and horror in equal measure. (Expect PETA to get behind this one.)
George Clooney is interested in starring, while producer Akiva Goldsman is footing the bill.

5. Kevin Conroy (Batman: The Animated Series, Batman: Mask Of The Phantasm, Justice League, Batman Beyond & Batman video game series 1992 - Current)
