50 Best Book To Movie Adaptations
32. Drive (2011)
The Book: John Sallis’ book of the same name, which follows Driver, a morally ambiguous lead who drives for a living – and then some.
The Movie Version: Supremely stylish and starring a swaggering, on-the-brink-of-something Ryan Gosling. Sure, the plot feels vaguely inconsequential, but this is gorgeous stuff.
Biggest Difference: Sallis’ novel has no linear plot, jumping around in time. This conceit was not used in the film.
