Stephen Fry talks Sherlock Holmes 2
Total Film caught up with Stephen Fry on the set of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, and he let slip a few details about his character. Fry is joining Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law in the sequel to Guy Ritchie’s smash-hit Arthur Conan Doyle revival.
“I play Mycroft,” Fry told us. “He’s Holmes’s smarter brother, but he’s so lazy, he never gets the reputation that Sherlock does. “It’s a very interesting character and fun to play, especially as I’ve been a Sherlock Holmes fan since I was a boy.”
Sherlock Holmes 2 is called A Game Of Shadows
The Amazing Spider-Man got a brand new title only yesterday – so why not Sherlock Holmes 2, as well? The official title to Guy Ritchie’s period follow-up has been revealed as the very mysterious, number-less Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows.
What that has to do with the plot itself is beyond us, though it’s just as ambiguous as any of the titles dreamed up by Arthur Conan Doyle (The Signs Of The Four…). All we know about the story for Game Of Shadows so far is that it reunites Holmes and his trusted associate Watson as they finally battle arch nemesis Professor Moriarity – with the help of Holmes’ brother Mycroft.
Guy Ritchie offered 300 sequel directing job
Guy Ritchie has been approached by Warner Bros with an offer to helm Xerxes, the battle-heavy sequel to Zack Snyder’s 300. Considering the WB already have Snyder on their payroll, it’s a surprise they didn’t go to him first. But word has it that the director is too busy attempting to fix third act problems on his fast-tracked Superman to have his attention split. Hence Ritchie’s been given a call. Though he’s yet to officially sign on to the film, the offer’s apparently on the table.
Behind The Scenes of Sherlock Holmes 2
Entertainment Tonight have been behind the scenes of Sherlock Holmes 2, and aired their findings for our viewing pleasure. While mostly sitting down with stars Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law, they also appear to have been given no-holds-barred access to the movie’s set. Which means we get some fun glimpses at what’s coming up in the sequel, including an action scene set on a train in which Holmes dresses up as a woman – and then strips down to his underwear.
