The nominations for the 2012 Academy Awards have been announced, with The Artist leading the way with five nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor.

Billy Crystal will host 2012 Oscars
In the wake of Brett Ratner and Eddie Murphy removing themselves from production and hosting duties respectively, Billy Crystal has saved the Academy’s bacon by agreeing to host the 2012 ceremony.
