Martin Sheen talks Spider-Man
Martin Sheen has spoken exclusively to Total Film about working with Andrew Garfield in The Amazing Spider-Man. The acting legend, who plays Uncle Ben to Garfield’s Peter Parker, told us that he predicts the young Brit will become “a huge star.”
“He’s quite the marvel, a very fine actor. He’s a lovely guy, very disciplined, very focused. He called me up and said, ‘This is Andrew Garfield’ and I said, ‘Who?’ and he said, ‘Uh, we’re in the movie together…’ and I said, ‘Yeah, what part do you play?’ and he said, ‘Uh, I play your nephew!’ - I liked him instantly.
Spider-Man web-shooters will be mechanical
Spider-Man actress Emma Stone walked the red carpet at the Golden Globes this weekend, and MTV took that as an opportunity to talk all things web-slingy with her. Clearly under strict orders not to reveal much about the movie (you can almost see the chip in her head giving off electric shocks every time she has to talk Spider-Man), Stone kept pretty tight-lipped. But when asked if Spidey would have mechanical web-slingers like in the comics, the actress begrudgingly confirmed: “It’s a device.”

On top of all that, we crowned Garfield ‘Hottest Actor’ at our 2010 Hotlist Awards. Now it seems his 2011 has kicked-off in style, as Sony have released the first pictures of Garfield as Peter Parker, filming a kiss scene with Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy.
