We asked stars Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law about the friendship between them, both on and off screen.

“We’re friends, we love working together,” Downey Jr admitted. “And if one can’t befriend the object of one’s admiration, that’s called a restraining order.”

First he pulls off an impressive turn as Sherlock Holmes (“upending the character’s long-standing stuffiness with contemporary verve while nailing the eccentric bent of Arthur Conan Doyle’s great British detective”). Now he fancies his chances as Perry Mason!
 
According to a report in Variety, a Perry Mason film would take place in the 1930s and be set in the “rough and tumble world” of early Los Angeles.

A new batch of images and posters from the upcoming Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows have been unveiled online.

First up: the posters. Continuing the smoky blue iconography used in the first film’s one sheets, here we have one for Sherlock (Robert Downey Jr) and one for Watson (Jude Law).

Each also shows off a key supporting character, with enticing glimpses of Jared Harris as villain Moriarty and a gypsied-up Noomi Rapace...

Jared Harris discusses Sherlock Holmes 2’s villain Moriarty

Mad Men star Jared Harris has spoken out about playing iconic villain Moriarty in Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows.

The actor, who makes his Holmes debut in the upcoming sequel, reveals that he approached Moriarty not as a villain, but as a man who sees the world differently.

“I think that for me… [Moriarty]’s amoral,” he tells Collider. “He’s moved beyond the concept of there being a heaven and a hell and a God and a devil, and there being good and evil, he doesn’t believe in it.

“And if you don’t believe in that moral construct, then everyone is free to do whatever they want.”
