Josh Pence bags a pivotal Dark Knight Rises role
Josh Pence has been cast in a key flashback role in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, according to Heat Vision.
It’s a potentially spoilery role, so anyone hoping to go into the movie cold should probably stop reading now.
Pence will play the young Ra’s Al Ghul in flashback scenes that take place some 30 years before the current setting. He’s certainly got a look that would make him an uncannily-striking match for a young Liam Neeson.
Zack Snyder talks Justice League’s different Superman
Zack Snyder paced the red carpet this week for the premiere of Sucker Punch, and he took the opportunity to clear up all the Justice League movie talk.
When asked how Warner Bros’ decision to move forward with a League movie affected his Superman, he responded:
“It doesn’t. Like what Chris Nolan is doing and what I’m doing with Superman, what they’ll do with Justice League will be its own thing with its own Batman and own Superman.
“We’ll be over here with our movie and they kinda get to do it twice which is kinda cool.”
Batman to be rebooted after The Dark Knight Rises
Chris Nolan wasn’t kidding when he said that The Dark Knight Rises would be his last Batman film.
Warner Bros have revealed that after Nolan closes up shop on his Batman trilogy, they will be rebooting the character completely ahead of their proposed Justice League movie.
“We have the third Batman, but then we’ll have to reinvent Batman…” says WB president Jeff Robinov. “Chris Nolan and [producing partner and wife] Emma Thomas will be producing it, so it will be a conversation with them about what the next phase is.”
Justice League movie coming in 2013?
After much back-and-forthing, Warner Bros have hinted they’re looking to launch a Justice League film - and soon!
Jeff Robinov, who takes the WB Presidential oath this week, has been a big influence in the industry for some time.
He was, after all, the one who persuaded Chris Nolan to include the Batmobile in Batman Begins.
Now, according to an interview with the LA Times, he plans to see the superhero ensemble take to the screen in 2013.
