Zack Snyder talks Justice League’s different Superman
Zack Snyder paced the red carpet this week for the premiere of Sucker Punch, and he took the opportunity to clear up all the Justice League movie talk.
When asked how Warner Bros’ decision to move forward with a League movie affected his Superman, he responded:
“It doesn’t. Like what Chris Nolan is doing and what I’m doing with Superman, what they’ll do with Justice League will be its own thing with its own Batman and own Superman.
“We’ll be over here with our movie and they kinda get to do it twice which is kinda cool.”
Michael Shannon taking on role of Superman villain?
Rumours that Viggo Mortensen was readying himself to get villainous in Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot may have been quashed, but new reports on the film’s villain have jumped up in their place.
Deadline and Latino Review both reveal that Michael Shannon and Edgar Ramirez are possible actors to play the film’s as-yet-unknown central villain.
Shannon most recently starred in HBO’s historical epic Boardwalk Empire, and received kudos for his Oscar-nominated role in Revolutionary Road.
Viggo Mortensen definitely not Zod in Superman: Man of Steel
While Zack Snyder is busy promoting Sucker Punch, it seems that everyone’s more interested in asking him about Superman: Man of Steel.
He’s not giving much away, but in a chat with Latino Review he did confirm, sadly, that Viggo Mortensen would not be in the movie, saying: “Yeah, Viggo is not going to be in the movie, let’s say that right now, I can clear that up.”
It doesn’t rule out the character of General Zod, but it’s a shame Viggo won’t be involved, as he could have been a formidable adversary for Supes.
